smoke on the water on Harmonica

Smoke On The Water Harmonica Lesson

Blackmore's classic riff from Deep Purple's Smoke On The Water transcribed for harmonica.

Difficulty: Medium
Lesson Length: 6:39
Instructor: George Goodman

Introduction

Smoke on the Water was written and recorded by Deep Purple.

It first appeared on the album, Machine Head in 1972.

The harmonica part that I'm demonstrating is played in second position and so we'll use a C harmonica for this.

Harmonica Tabs

The notes that make up this lick are the first 4 notes of the Blues Scale.
Some bending will be required. In particular, we need to have a target single bend on draw 3 and draw 4.

Cheers, George
