Miranda Lambert - Kerosene

Miranda Lambert - Kerosene

This one was a request. Not my usual fare but what the hell. It's a nice straight-forward riff and solo in second position.

Video Timeline

00:45 - Song Key and Harmonica Key

Kerosene is in D but we want to play in second position.

That requires a harmonica in the key of G.

1:34 - Harmonica Riff

Here's a great sounding riff that is easy to play. Single notes are not required, in fact, they are discouraged. We need to play 2 note chords for this.

2:21 - Harmonica Solo - Key of G

The solo definitely has more going on than the riff.

You will need to be able to perform a bend on draw 6, -6.

There is also a little trill between -4 and -5 that can be a bit tricky.

If you know your Blues scale, then there isn't anything here you can't handle.

The song is in the key of D and I'm going to play in 2nd position so you need a G harmonica.
Here's the best place I know of to get one on the internet - G Hohner Special 20

That covers the harmonica part for Kerosene.

Stay In Tune. Peace.
