ii Minor Pentatonic Scale

The Minor Pentatonic Scale

The minor pentatonic scale provides a great source of notes that fits over a minor chord.

The minor pentatonic scale includes the following five notes:
- The root or first note of the chord.
- The 3rd which is the third note of the minor scale and second note of the minor chord.
- The 4th which is the fourth note of the chord’s minor scale.
- The 5th which is the fifth note of the minor scale and third note of the minor chord.
- The 7th which is the seventh note of the minor scale and the fourth note of the minor 7th chord.

Looking at the Pentatonic Scale Cheat Sheet in the second row we can see the harmonica tabs for the ii minor pentatonic scale.
It starts in the fifth column of the first row. This note is the last note in the scale and is the minor 7th of the chord.
The root note of the scale starts in the second row on -1.
That's followed by -2bb.
Then blow 3
followed by -3bb
and then blow 4

The ii minor pentatonic scale continues in the next octave on line 3 beginning with the root on draw 4.
That's followed by -5.
Then blow 6,
Draw 6
and then blow 7

The upper octave of the ii minor pentatonic scale starts on the root at draw 8
Followed by draw 9
Then blow 9,
Draw 10
and finally blow 10

Now over the entire range of the harmonica
