Tom Petty Mary Jane's Last Dance

Tom Petty - Mary Jane's Last Dance

The rhythm guitar part to this can definitely be tricky to get but I break the beat down so you know exactly where the downstrokes and upstrokes are.

Plus there's a great harmonica riff.

1:23 - Guitar Rhythm

It's a bit of a complicated syncopated 16th rhythm with palm mutes going on so I go into some detail about how to get it right.

10:20 - Harmonica Solos

The key of the song is Am.
We'll use third position for this.
A would be first position, D would be second position and G is third position.
Third position puts us in G and so we'll use a G harmonica.
