Musical Challenges

For Harmonica - Second Position and Bending: The harmonica solo is based on second position and incorporating bending especially a single bend on draw 3.
Bending on harmonica is covered in your membership video series Harp N Guitar Harmonica Essentials and Bent Harmonica

Guitar - Chords: There are quite a few and some may be new including C minor.

If you need help here, check out these video series: Harp N Guitar Guitar Essentials, Guitar Chords and Rhythm Guitar and Strumming.

Video Timeline

0:19 - Introduction

Guitar chords, pick out a harmonica and jam.

0:43 - Key of G = C Harmonica

Draw 2, 3, 4, 5 on a C harmonica produces the G7 chord.

1:02 - Guitar Chords

2:28 - Strumming Pattern

A couple of different rhythms with some synchopation.

3:35 - Harmonica Improvising

I am leaving this one up to you. Second position is how Edwards plays it. That's what I do too, but with my own take on things.

4:00 - Jamming It Out

Late at night, having too much fun. I hope you enjoy.

Things To Note

This was recorded in my studio in Nanaimo, British Columbia in February 2013.

The lyrics are "gonna lay around this shanty momma", not "hang".

Stay in tune my friend.

Great job! Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

I just love this vid. My fav part is at about the 4 minute mark when George explains why one should play Shanty slower than the original. Hilarious!

Great tutorial and amazing job!

Love it. Thanks for the tutorial.

Great job as usual George. I get dizzy just watching you play both instruments at the same time.
