The song is in Am, so when using a C harmonica puts you in fourth position. A G harmonica in third position would also work well.
I liked the riff I came up with on the C harmonica so stuck with that on this song.
Buy a Hohner Special 20 - Key G or C here
A C harmonica is the first one you need to follow along with the lessons on the site. I often play a Hohner Special 20 Harmonica in the key of C through a Shure Green Bullet microphone Model 5200 and Fender Super Champ amplifier
The Hohner Harmonica Neck Holder fits harmonicas up to 7-1/2" long.
With a long-lasting nickel-plated finish, this harmonica rack is adjustable and fits any neck shape.

Video Timeline
00:17 - Introduction
Hi, George here. Welcome to this video where I go through Bob Dylan’s Like A Rolling Stone on guitar and harmonica.
I start off by going through the guitar chords and talk a little bit about strumming patterns. Then I’m going to get into the harmonica and talk about what Bob does on that and talk a little about what Al Kooper is playing on the organ and steal one of his riffs. And then we jam through it.
00:49 - History and the Original Key
Originally recorded in the key of C, I am transposing the song down a perfect fourth to the key of G which is in an easier lower range for my voice.
01:36 - Guitar Chords and Progression
Though I'm playing in G, this can be easily transcribed back to C...
05:25 - Strumming Rhythm
There are a number of different rhythms that work well here.
06:08 - Harmonica
This version of Like A Rolling Stone is in the key of G and I am playing in first position and so am using a harmonica in the key of G.
I am basically playing 3 different riffs in the song. The first two are lifted from Al Kooper’s organ and the other is from Bob.
