Video Timeline
0:05 - Introduction
Hey George here. Welcome to HarpnGuitar.com, the site that helps you sound great on guitar and harmonica. Today we’re going to look at the Blues Scale in second position on a C Harmonica.
00:25 - What is the scale?
The Blues Scale is a 6 note scale as compared to the Major scale which is a 7 note scale.
It is built on the minor pentatonic scale with an added Flat Fifth.
Using a C harmonica, in second position, puts us in the key of G.
Normally we know what key the song is in, go up a fourth and use that key harmonica but this time we have the harmonica so let's go down a fourth from C to G.
A C harmonica is good for Blues in G in second position.
If we draw on -2-3-4, we produce a G chord on the C harmonica.

Do you sell the Harpin guitar tee shirt.?
Hey Bob. No. I would like to though. I’d like to get some other merchandise together as well.
Know anyone?

George….
Great job on showing us the Blues Scale!
You have always taught that learning our scales is critical to learning the harmonica. It gives us the power to really leap frog in our playing over a variety of songs.
One thought… do you have a video on how to hit that 6 Overblow? I know how to do it but it took me months to get it down.
(And one harp coach that I had years ago wasn’t really showing our class how to really hit it the most effective way.)
(I use the, “Queen Method”)…
Keep up the great work! LOVE all of your videos on what to do with all of those Classic Rock songs!!
