In this session we are looking at the IV Major 7 chord. This is the chord built on the fourth note of the major scale and like the I is also a Major 7 chord.

Where do the notes that make up the IVM7 chord land over the full range of the diatonic harmonica?

The Harmonica Chord Cheat Sheet harmonica tabs are divided into 4 columns.
7th chords are made up of four notes with each note in the chord represented by a particular column.
The first column shows the root of the chord.
The second column displays the 3rd of the chord.
The third column shows the 5th of the chord and the fourth column is the 7th of the chord.

The 7th of the chord can then be found at blow 2.
The full IV Major 7 can be seen in the second row beginning with the root at draw 2 with a double bend.
The third of the chord is draw 3 with a double bend.
The fifth is blow 4 and the 7th is at blow 5.

The next octave starts with the root at draw 5.
The 3rd of the chord is draw 6.
The 5th of the chord is blow 7 and the 7th of the chord is blow 8.

In the next octave we can play the IV Major triad chord starting at draw 9 for the root.
Then draw 10 for the 3rd and finishing with blow 10 for the 5th.

Wrap Up

The Harmonica Chord Cheat Sheet displays the tabs that make up the seventh chords built upon each degree of the major scale.
Seventh chords are four note chords consisting of a root, third, fifth and seventh.
Each of these notes are displayed in columns in the chart.
The root is the first column, the 3rd is the second column, the 5th is in the third column and the 7th is in the fourth column.
