Outline
Let's continue looking at and listening to 7th chords and the differences between the three note triad counterpart.
In this session, the ii minor and ii minor 7 chord are up. In particular, Dm and Dm7.
I will also introduce a new rhythm and time signature to work on.
Strumming Pattern
This rhythm introduces the 6/8 time signature.
The top note of the time signature represents the number of beats per measure so there are 6 beats per measure in 6/8 time.
The bottom note represents the note type that receives a single beat so in 6/8 time there are 6 eighth notes per measure.
Here's how it's counted.
1 2 3 4 5 6
The emphasis occurs on the first and fourth beat which gives each measure a triplet type of feel.
All beats are played as down strokes.
Things To Work On
