iii Minor Pentatonic Scale

In this session we’ll look at the iii Minor Pentatonic Scale on the Pentatonic Scale Cheat Sheet and where that is found on the diatonic harmonica.
iii minor pentatonic scale harmonica tabs
Looking at the iii - Minor section of the Pentatonic Scale Cheat Sheet we can see that the lowest note on our harmonica that is part of this scale is draw 1. This is in the 5th column and so represents the fifth note of our scale which is the 7th of the chord.

The root note of the scale starts in the second row on blow 2.
That's followed by blow 3.
Then -3bb
-3
and then -4

The iii minor pentatonic scale continues in the next octave starting on blow 5.
Then blow 6.
Followed by -6
-7
and then draw 8.

Part of the iii minor pentatonic scale continues in the upper register beginning with blow 8.
Then blow 9 and then -9

So here it is over the entire range of the harmonica:
-1
2 3 -3bb -3 -4
5 6 -6 -7 -8
8 9 -9
