Syncopated Finger Picking

Pattern 2 - 6 String in G Major
Pictured below is pattern 2, 6 string picking pattern for G Major.

This pattern uses all six strings.
Start by fretting G Major with the left hand.
The pattern starts on beat 1 playing strings 6 and 1.
This is followed starting on beat 2 by the strings 4, 3, 5, 2, 4, 3. Then the pattern repeats.

Pattern 2 - 6 String in E Minor

Start this exercise by fretting Em in the left hand.
The fingering here is the exact same as that for the pattern in G Major.
The sequence of strings starts with 6 and 1 together on beat 1 followed on beat 2 - 4 3 5 2 4 3.

Now practice alternating between G and E minor playing 2 bars for each chord.

Things To Work On
Start slowly and build up speed.
Ear Training - Keep practicing singing the root notes.
